The Proof is in the Pudding

Okay, so this is just plain scary (in a good way). We all know that Maggie looks just like Andy and me. Some days more like Andy, some days more like me. Well folks, here is the proof. Below you will find pictures of Andy and me as children. I am about a year an a half old in my picture and I think Andy was around 8 or 9 months old in his. See the proof for yourselves. Maggie is definitely a great mix of the both of us.

Technical difficulties update: I have the internet working at home now (for now). The bad side is that it isn't through our network so TiVo won't be a part of our lives again until we settle in Las Vegas. Oh well, back to using a VCR. I wonder if Maggie will even know what a VCR is?

Fond Farewell's

So, the big news first:

OUR HOUSE IS FINALLY SOLD!!!!!

I won't bore everyone with the details but the person who bought it agreed to our counter offer late last week and we signed the relocation papers today (relocation handles the offer and all details from this point onward). So, my last day of work will be Friday, February 17th and the movers will come on the 21st or 22nd. Maggie and I will be spending time with our families in Mississippi until our condo in Las Vegas is completed (hopefully, mid-March). Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts about selling our house.

Andy was able to come home this weekend and spend some time with us girls. We had a farewell dinner with our supper club group and got to see the new additions to the group- baby Samuel and baby Chip. Our church also had a "send-off" in Sunday School and at the end of the church service. We are very thankful for everyone who had a part in making our weekend memorable.

Maggie spent most (if not all) of the weekend realizing that crawling can get her from point A to point B. I realized that I can no longer iron clothes while Maggie is awake and near me. She tried several times to either pull up on the ironing board or pull at the iron's cord. So, that is another activity that is being moved to nap times and bedtimes. She enjoyed spending lots of time with Daddy and played the piano with him. That is one thing I think she will always stop whatever she is doing to hear.

We are experiencing technical difficulties at home right now. Our internet is out (again) for about the 3rd week this month. It's a terribly long story but I am cancelling our internet service if we are still having problems tonight. So, that means that I will be posting to Maggie's website during my lunch hour at work. I will try my best to update at least once a week but we're just tired of paying for service that doesn't work and the provider doesn't seem to want to fix. Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox.

Extra, Extra Read All About It...

MAGGIE IS CRAWLING!!!!

We just assumed she was skipping past crawling to walking since she is pulling up and standing up but she showed us. This afternoon I went to pick her up off the floor and she just crawled to me. She proceeded to do this three more times so I know this is the real thing!

I'm so excited. Now I have to go buy a lot of safety stuff for the house...

I'll have pictures later in the week or weekend- Andy is coming home on Friday. YEAH!!!

A quiet weekend with Mommy

Maggie and I spent the weekend not doing too much, just relaxing. We continued our Friday night tradition of going to the grocery store, where Maggie always makes friends. Yesterday, we spent most of they day at home with the exception of our trip to Target. We went to church today and Maggie had a great time playing with her friends and showing them how to take off their shoes. We had an open house this afternoon for the house and about 13 couples came by so that was great news. Hopefully, more good news will follow in the next few days.

Maggie's weekend with Daddy

Andy came home on Thursday night for the weekend and Maggie and I loved every minute of having him home. Maggie and I took Friday off work and school to surprise Daddy by staying at home with him. He was very surprised and excited. We pretty much stayed around the house this weekend and celebrated Andy's birthday (January 20th) on Saturday. Unfortunately, Sunday came and we had to take Andy back to the airport. He made it back to Las Vegas safely but with a nasty cold/sinus stuff.

The Pictures Say It All

There isn't too much going on with Maggie and I this week. She had her 9 month check up on Tuesday and she is doing great other than her ear infection and cough. We now have medicine for that and you would never know she was sick. Anyway, here are some pictures tonight. Her new trick is sitting up in her crib when I lay her down for a nap...I'm sure this will continue to be the source of much fun for her.

P.S.- Maggie is very excited that Daddy is coming home tomorrow for the weekend!! She can't wait to show him all her new tricks including waving to herself in the mirror.

So here are the new things that Maggie has learned this weekend:

• Waving Bye Bye - I thought I saw a glimpse of this on Friday but thought it was just a fluke. No, it wasn't. When a realtor and an interested couple were leaving our house on Saturday morning Maggie waved bye bye to them as they left. D is for Development.
• Pulling Up - I was sitting on the floor with Maggie yesterday afternoon playing with her activity table in front of her and all of a sudden she stood up and not with any help from me. So, I then stood her up and didn't hold her and she will stand there and play and play. D is for Development.
• Sitting up on her own - She has been sitting independent for a while but when I put her in her crib for her afternoon nap, I assumed she had gone to sleep. So, I went back in there after about 5 minutes and lo and behold she had sat up from laying down. So, I'm sure she'll combine this with #2 and she will be standing there when she wants me to come and pick her up. D is for Development.

So, I guess that's what happens when you turn 9 months old. Maggie really may not crawl and just skip ahead to walking. Fine with us.

On a non-Maggie note, a house update. I usually don't mention any house updates because I get pretty sick of thinking, talking, writing about selling the house. But this is worth a mention. Yesterday, before 2 pm, we had 3 different couples look at our house. The third couple have already looked several times and were bringing their parents by. I am trying not to be too optimistic because this particular couple has been looking at our house for about a month now. But, I took this as a good sign. So, cross those fingers and say lots of prayers; Andy, Maggie and I are ready to be a family again.

How is she 9 months old already??????

I just can't believe it. Today Maggie turned 9 months old. She is celebrating with a trip to Wal Mart. She is still on the verge of crawling. Her new thing is pushing her body into a pyramid position with her feet so as soon as she can figure out how to get those arms moving she will be on her way. She also now has her top right tooth and this one came with far less pain than the bottom two. We will be buying Stage 3 baby foods tonight at Wal Mart which just means it has chunks in it. I'll let you know how that goes over.

Maggie is also going to meet one of her new friends this weekend, Chip, who was born on Christmas Eve.

Happy New Year and We're Home (finally)

Happy New Years!!! (a day late)

Maggie and I made it back to Atlanta safely this afternoon around 4 pm. Thankfully, about a half an hour before tornado warnings started popping up all around Atlanta. I think it rained for about 30 seconds at my house.

Anyway, Andy and I had a great New Years Eve in Las Vegas. We joined several of his co-workers for dinner before getting ripped off by a cab driver taking us to Ceasars Palace for the Celine Dion A New Day concert. I mean, what cab driver doesn't have change with him on New Years Eve, really. As they say here in the south, I didn't fall off a turnip truck yesterday.

So, the concert/musical was phenomenal. Afterwards, we met back up with Andy's co-workers and made our way out to the Strip. The Strip had been closed down to traffic at about 6 pm so by the time we ventured outside at 11 pm it was the craziest thing I had ever seen. Now, keep in mind that I have never gone to Mardi Gras and after experiencing the Strip on New Years Eve, I won't. I digress. So, we squeezed our way through crowd of people doing everything imaginable and we were able to see the amazing fireworks show at midnight. The big thing about the fireworks on the Strip is that fireworks were simultaneously shot off the tops of 10 casinos on the Strip. It was something I will never forget.

We then proceeded to make the treck back to Andy's hotel. Now keep in mind that there were about 300,000 other party-goers also trying to get back to cars, hotels, etc... . It was an adventure. I was a sight. Picture this, me, in a dressyish outfit and tennis shoes with my shawl tied like a baby sling on me trying to keep up with the crowd and not get hit by a car. And for the record, no, I did not wear tennis shoes to the concert. I just had them conveniently in my purse.

Okay, so that was a longer story than I bet you wanted to read. So, anyway, I flew back to Jackson yesterday to pick up Maggie and head home today.

Maggie's First Christmas

Sorry for the delay in a new post but we have been traveling a lot during the holidays and this is the first chance I have had to post.

Anyway, Maggie's first Christmas was an extraordinary one for her. She got a lot of very nice presents from everyone. She definitely has a lot of new clothes to wear and new toys to try out. We started out the trip at Meme and Pap's where Maggie played hard with her cousin Anna. On Christmas day Maggie made the trip down the Natchez Trace to see Gran and then to see Gigi and Papa.

Andy and I came out to Las Vegas on Wednesday and Maggie is staying with Papa and Gigi until I return on Sunday. She is having a blast from what she has told me.
