What happened while we were at dinner

First things first. We had an amniocentesis done this morning to verify that Claire lungs were mature enough for her to be born tomorrow. We found out late this afternoon that they are not mature. There was only a 5% chance this would happen. So, we go back for another amnio in 10 days and we'll go from there. This is assuming that I don't go into labor before then. Please pray for little Claire's lungs to mature quickly so that when it's time, she will be ready.

On another note. The pictures below are what happened after we left to go out to eat tonight. It was storming a little when we left but we obviously left just in time. Thankfully, the tree fell away from the house but had the road blocked and the fire department had to come cut it out of the road. We now have a big mess to clean up!

An afternoon at the pool

Sunday afternoon we got together with some good friends, the Fishers and Scarbroughs, for a little relaxation by the pool. Thanks for having us over guys!

Two posts in one day!!!

Hard to believe isn't it. These files are just a couple of Maggie while we were eating dinner--that is if you can call a bowl of Honeycombs dinner! The first video is Maggie and her phrase DoTo {"Doh Toe"}. She has been saying this for a couple of weeks now and we have no idea what it means! If you can help us out, please share.

Finished Nursery and New Camera

First, the baby Claire update...

She's doing quite well and is estimated to be 7 lbs. We have a c-section scheduled for next Friday, June 27th at 10 am. So, the countdown begins...

We finished cleaning/organizing the nursery last night and pictures are below.

We were excited to take pictures last night as our new Nikon camera arrived yesterday. We are already in love with it but that wasn't hard considering what we upgraded from. Here are some pictures that we took last night with the new camera.

A dad's work is never done...

Yes, the above is true and Andy can tell you this first hand. The upcoming arrival of baby Claire has us in fast forward to get everything ready for her arrival.

Even though it was Father's Day weekend and I'm sure Andy would have loved nothing more than to sit around and do nothing...that didn't happen.

My energy level is quite low so it was up to Andy to get most of this past weekend's tasks taken care of. He accomplished quite a lot...steam cleaned carpets, cleaned out the garage and basement, cleaned floors and quite a few other tasks that I just wasn't up for.

I think we will have to have a make-up Father's Day weekend for Andy another time this summer so he can really get what he deserves...rest.

Bowling

A few weeks ago, Andy and I started thinking about a few things that we wanted to take Maggie to before baby Claire arrived. The first- take Maggie to an Atlanta Braves game. The second- take Maggie to the zoo.

Unfortunately, being as it was quite hot this weekend, both of those options were retired until it cools off outside. I have to say most of the decision was mine...I have absolutely no desire to walk around outside right now, being almost 9 months pregnant that is. Thankfully, Andy and I were able to come up with option C- bowling!

Maggie's friend, Connor, also joined us along with his parents and little brother. Maggie and Connor had a blast and barely even let the adults bowl and made sure that no one used their green bowling balls.

Baby Claire update

I just wanted to give everyone an update on baby Claire. She is right at 34 weeks, doing great and growing well. We had an ultrasound yesterday that estimated her weight at 5 lbs 10 oz. She supposedly has a lot of hair and was sucking her thumb yesterday during the ultrasound.

While baby Claire and I are both doing fine, there is a complication that has come up that will make it necessary to deliver her via c-section as opposed to a traditional delivery. Again, Claire and I are just fine. We have an amniocentisis scheduled for Thursday, June 26th (37 weeks) to make sure that her lungs are fully mature. If so, we will go ahead with the scheduled c-section on Friday, June 27th.

We are looking forward to baby Claire being here and Maggie cannot wait to be a big sister.
