Pictures are early this week!

We're posting a little early this week. We're going to Blue Springs this weekend for my 10 year class reunion on Saturday. I'm sure we'll have some pictures from the event next week.

As for Maggie, she's still growing and growing. Katie and I are amazed more and more as we are privileged to get to watch this little girl grow up. One of the pictures is a little out of focus, but we couldn't resist getting one in the dark. Just imagine that you are getting sleepy too!

Have a great rest of the week and weekend.

Another week's end

Not much to report on this Friday night. So, we decided to let Maggie pay tribute to her grandparents. This one is for you.

Maggie goes to Reese's Birthday Party

Maggie's friend Reese Fisher turned 1 year old this weekend, and her parents celebrated with a pool party. This was Maggie's first time in (1) a swimsuit and (2) a pool. I'm not sure how she felt about either one! You'll see from the pictures that she did make it to the pool, if it was only for 3 minutes. After pool time, and right in the middle of cake-cutting, she passed out from excitement.

Happy Birthday Reese!

Laughter, sweet laughter

Again I find myself apologizing for not posting all week. I tried, honestly I did. Katie sent me the pictures, and I attempted to post in my hotel room on their "high speed wireless" connection. It was so slow that I timed out before the photos could load. Basically I could have called everyone who reads this and described the pictures faster. So, without further delay. . .

I was in Savannah, Georgia all week with work. While I was there, Katie tells me that I missed Maggie's first laugh. It only happened once, so maybe I didn't miss too much. Now we are trying our best to make it happen again. Here are the pictures Katie sent. They don't really make sense now that I am back home, but they are cute none-the-less.

MILESTONE

As I write this, Maggie had a first tonight. She is content watching her Baby Einstein DVD. We have several of these that we received for baby gifts. We have tried to get her to watch the DVDs on several occasions, but with no luck. Tonight she is sitting in her swing in front of the television watching BE Van Gogh. And now I see that Jack Pete is watching too.

I’m supposed to be working out of town this week in Savannah, GA. My plan was to fly out tonight. However, with the weather, I am going to be at home tonight. My flight has been pushed back to morning, so I’m getting to enjoy a rainy night inside with Katie, Maggie and Jack Pete. So far we’re just getting a lot of rain from the hurricane.

Don’t worry though; I should be able to post this week from my hotel room in Savannah.

Here are a few pictures from today.

Maggie decided to wear a party-dress to church today. I'm sure everyone will be talking about it all week! Posted by Picasa

It's Contagious

I want to welcome some our friends to the world of blogging. Trey and Sarah Tracy who live in Madison, Mississippi right outside of Jackson have started their own blog. When we lived in Jackson we went to church with them at First Baptist Church of Jackson. Check them out.

Week of July 4th

After a week of no news, I am finally posting an update. We've been busy lately. On Saturday, Katie and I came to the realization that Maggie is very near rolling over on her own for the first time. We held our breath over the weekend, but it didn't happen. She's been under the weather with a cold, so we are sure that's the only thing holding her back.

We think she's going to be able to roll over any day now. Posted by Picasa

Another big thing in her life right now is that she is starting to use her hands. We noticed this on Saturday afternoon. I walked past the nursery and heard a strange noise. As you will see from the picture, she was playing with a toy that's attached to her crib. She did this for several minutes before losing interest.

F*O*U*R*T*H O*F J*U*L*Y

On Sunday July 3rd, we went to church and a picnic that followed the service. Maggie was modeling her new dress that has her initials monogrammed on the front.

On Sunday afternoon, lightning fried our televisions and knocked our cable modem out, so I have a good excuse for this post being late. On Monday, Maggie was sick with a cold, so we stayed around the house for the most part, except when I was out television shopping! We did find a chance to dress Maggie and Jack Pete up in their Fourth of July outfits and snap a few pictures. Jack Pete's serious looks stems from his being bribed with a piece of cheese that was just out of range of the camera. Hey, it worked!
