Sick Times Two

Sniff, sniff, cough, sneeze...

Those sounds could be heard from two things this week. Maggie and my car.

Here's the deal with Miss Maggie. Saturday morning she got up as usual but proceeded to lay around most of the morning and have a runny nose. This behavior continued sporadically until yesterday. Tuesday night she was up from midnight until 1 am (very rare for Maggie) and thus led me to make a doctor's appt. Usually if Maggie has trouble sleeping it is one of two things- her two ears.

So, we load up in the car to go to our 10:30 appt and nothing happens. Nothing. Yes, my car was sick, dead, lifeless, whatever you want to call it. So, Andy had to come home from work, we re-scheduled the doctor's appt for later and dealt with the sick car.

Okay, so to make a long story short. Maggie does have an ear infection, but a mild one and she is acting much better today. The car got towed to a repair shop this morning and was treated for her sickness (dead battery) and is back at home safely where she belongs.

Despite all the sickness, I managed to snap some cute pictures this week.

Dear Dada,

Dear Dada,

Thank you for taking me to Chuck E. Cheese on Friday night. I had a lot of fun playing. I liked the pizza and riding in the red dog car.

I wish it was not this hot outside because I miss our nightly wagon rides in the neighborhood. Mama said it will be hot for a little bit longer but we can do wagon rides again soon.

And, thank you for letting me play on the piano. I try to be real careful and not get anything messy while I play on it. I really like it when we get to play it together.

I had a fun weekend Dada. It's fun when you are home all day.

I love you,

Maggie

Maggie's weekend

Maggie's weekend began by letting Mommy see that she had cut another tooth. Yes, tooth number 12 has arrived. It's one of her bottom teeth. Now, we just have to do this 8 more times and we will have a full set.

Maggie and Mommy had a girls day on Saturday so Daddy could go play golf with some of his co-workers. Daddy had a good time and enjoyed getting some fresh air.

Yesterday, we had a lazy morning, we all took afternoon naps and then hit the town. We decided to go to a shopping area in Henderson, The District at Green Valley Ranch. It's an open air shopping area and Maggie had a good time. The highlight of Maggie's evening was dinner at The Cheesecake Factory where she entertained the other diners sitting near us. This involved talking really loud and dancing to the music. She partied hard and at 6:30 was ready to go home. So, we did.

On another note, Maggie has started playing the piano at random times throughout the day and then clapping at herself. It really is quite funny. She also looks for us to make sure we clap too! I think we are going to have another piano player on our hands.

What A Trip

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get a post up but you know how it is when you come back from out of town.

Maggie and I had a great trip to MS last week. Maggie was pretty good on the flight there (she wasn't the biggest fan of having to sit in my lap for 4 hours). Once we arrived in MS, we drank all the sweet tea we could get our hands on, and a lot of Chick-fil-A (the closest Chick-fil-A to Vegas is in LA).

I stayed pretty busy the entire trip with the wedding events but Maggie got to spend quality time with all the grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She didn't know what to think of grass or the humidity.

I celebrated my 27th birthday while we were in MS over a few days and enjoyed seeing family and friends that I don't normally get to see on my birthday.

The wedding was beautiful and the happy couple are now relaxing in Napa Valley.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.
